5. On the Custom Setup dialog:

a. Select an application name to see a brief description of the application:

• WD Drive Utilities

•WD Security

•WD SmartWare

b. Clear the check box for any application that you do not want to install.

c. Clear the check box for any installation option that you do not want to implement:

• Create Desktop Shortcut

• Launch Application

d. Click Next to install the selected applications and options.

6. When the installation completes, click Finish to exit the WD Apps Setup Wizard:

7. Depending on your selections:

• Installing WD Drive Utilities with the Launch Application option displays the

WD Drive Utilities screen (see Figure 4 on page 8 and “Managing and

Customizing the Drive” on page 42).

• Installing WD Security with the Launch Application option displays the

WD Security screen (see Figure 5 on page 8 and “Locking and Unlocking the

Drive” on page 35).

• Installing WD SmartWare displays the initial Backup Plan Selection screen for

selecting the type of backup that you want to perform (see Figure 6 on page 9

and proceed to step 8).
